About Us

The Festival is conceived, promoted and organized by the Teatro del Grillo cultural association. The Teatro del Grillo cultural association is a non-profit organization born in 2010 from the desire of three young twenty-year-olds, passionate about theater, cinema and music, to share an aggregative and formative experience. Over the years the Association has carried out a series of cultural initiatives, giving the members themselves the opportunity to develop interests and skills in the field of film, theater and music production, design, dissemination and promotion. The activities focus on the practice, dissemination and promotion of culture. The ultimate goal is to address social and topical issues belonging to our contemporary society through the use of the languages ​​of cinema, theater and creative writing in order to create products of artistic and cultural quality and also spread positive ideas and values, involving an increasing number of people. The association has carried out numerous national projects listed below: Years 2019-2020: – “Hungry Heart” short film – production and distribution – financed by: Campania Region, Cilento National Park, Vallo di Diano and Alburni and Fondazione Grande Lucania. Years 2018 – 2019: – design and implementation of the “Tutti in Sala” artistic and cultural workshop for personal growth and social integration, funded by the Campania Region for the regional call for “Youth Wellbeing – Let’s get organized” POR CAMPANIA FSE 2014/2020 – CUP: J31J17000040002; organization, creation and promotion of theater, cinema, music and creative writing workshops. Years 2016 – 2017: “Almost normal” – short film, production and distribution, project financed by crowdfunding; “Con la valigia in mano” song theater show written, directed and interpreted by Domenico Colangelo and Nicola Linfante, Io spectacle addresses the theme of the history of Italian emigration using the languages ​​of music and theater; “John Martin the blue soldier” surreal comedy that stages an unreal encounter between John Martin (Custer’s trumpeter, the only survivor of the battle of the Little Big Horn, born in Sala Consilina) and the Sioux leader Sitting Bull; written, directed and performed by Domenico Colangelo. Winner of the “Arthouse” public tender, a project financed by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the Municipality of Eboli.

Domenico Colangelo

Actor, director and author from Campania, he graduated in 2015 in Archeology and Ancient Cultures at the University of Salerno; at the same time as his university studies he pursued the study of theater and cinema. In 2010 he founded the cultural association Teatro del Grillo. In 2011 he graduated from the school of stage movement and body mime I.C.R.A. Project of Naples, directed by maestro Michele Monetta. Over the years he has specialized in courses, workshops, masterclasses with nationally and internationally renowned actors and directors: Giancarlo Giannini, Antonio Calenda, Sergio Rubini, Pierpaolo Sepe, Pasquale De Cristoforo. After working for years as an actor in theater, cinema and TV, he decided to devote himself to directing and screenwriting. In 2019 he wrote and directed the short film “Hungry Heart” financed by the Campania Region, by the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park and by the Grande Lucania Foundation. In the same year he created the “Tutti in Sala” artistic and cultural workshop for personal growth and social integration, funded by the Campania Region for the regional call for “Youth Wellbeing – Let’s get organized” POR CAMPANIA FSE 2014/2020 – CUP: J31J17000040002; organization, creation and promotion of theater, cinema, music and creative writing workshops. In 2018 he directed and wrote the video spot “Joe” on the figure of the Italian-American policeman Joe Petrosino. In 2017 he wrote and performed the short film “Almost normal” on the theme of gender violence directed by Sebastiano Covone. Between 2016 and 2020 he staged his song theater show “Con la valigia in mano” written in collaboration with singer-songwriter and actor Nicola Linfante on a national and international tour. For the theater he wrote, directed and performed: “Story of an almost normal man”, “John Martin the blue soldier”, winner of the Arthouse tender, financed by the Prime Minister’s Office.

Nicola Linfante

Nicola Linfante singer-songwriter, musician and actor from Campania. In 2004 he moved to Rome to study acting and stage movement. From 2007 he then moved to Paris where he lived for several years, perfecting his acting and musical sense. He studied music as a self-taught child since he was fascinated by the scratchy sounds of the vinyls that filled his father’s shop. The most important period for his musical growth is, in fact, the Parisian one: he explores all the worlds that the city collects. He performs in various clubs in the French capital, discovers the possible intertwining between East and West. He plays with artists from all over the world, and in the world he finds his home and his music made of smiles, rhythm and warmth. He releases his first EP “Sesto Sense” for the Mr.Few label made in 2017. In 2018, again with the Mr.Few label, he released the single “Poliamore”. Between 2016 and 2020 he staged his Teatro Canzone show “Con la valigia in mano” written in collaboration with the director and actor Domenico Colangelo with a national and international tour. He is currently engaged in the production and realization of his new album.
